Technique Class
 

Style: Jazz, Contempoary, Theatre, Lyrical. This Technique Class is suited for dancers who would like to enhance their theoretical knowledge and practical ability in relation to contemporary and jazz technique. This class is designed to improve a dancers range of motion, muscle flexibility and build core muscle strength through a variety of stretching and strengthening exercises. Dancers will also increase their awareness of how they can develop their expression through movement alone.

Students who attended this class have participated in professional shows such as BBC's Strictly Come Dancing stars annual tour and other high calibre dance events.  All students in this class will also take part examinations and two of our stage productions each year. There are many fantastic performance opportunities available in this class. Please note for this class, previous dance experience is preferred. Students under the age of 13 will be considered depending on experienece. 

Senior Singing 

In this class students will work on vocal technique, expression, projection, diction, harmonisation, ensemble, and solo performance. Children will also be taught improvisation, storytelling, characterisation, accents and acting through song. Combined with a Musical Theatre class, we aim for students to encompass all three disciplines of Dance, Singing and Acting.

Our goal is to build confidence in performance and provide a platform for our students to develop technique, expression, and musical knowledge. Over the past term we have explored musicals such as, We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde JR, and The Sound of Music.

We provide students with a broad repertoire of musicals from classic to current musicals, expanding students’ knowledge in musical genres, style, and history. If you have never sung before, do not worry! Most of our singing is in groups and nobody is ever put on the spot. Students do have the option to perform solo parts which can be supported with private coaching with one of our experienced teachers.

IDTA Ballet Private Coaching

Ballet has a technique which is the foundation of all dance. This classical style of expressive movement has something to offer everyone with IDTA ballet coaching available for pleasure or for the more serious-minded. This classical style dates to the 17th century and the conventional steps, grace and fluidity of movement are still found in Ballet today. Choreographers across the world have been influenced by composers through the ages. At Class One we can support with private coaching and IDTA Examinations. Private coaching is highly sort after and needs to be booked well in advance through the Academy office / Academy Principal.
