Enrolment & Payments
Normally, we do not allow our members to attend two schools. This includes Performing Arts, Drama, Acro or Dance Academy/School/Clubs/Groups. Please talk directly with the principal for further information and we will guide you further on this.
Core Classes are £25 per month
Additional Lessons / Specialist Classes range from £6-£12 per class
Classes are billed on a pay monthly basis. All classes need to be paid via standing order 1st of the month as we no longer accept cash.
To join Class One, simply send us an enquiry via email or telephone. We will then check space availibility and find a class most suited for you. You can enrol using the online form.
General
Unfortunately videos and photography are strictly forbidden during classes, competitions and shows.
Class One Dance Academy is open nealy all year round with 1 summer closure and 1 winter closure.
No, however it is preferred. We do have a uniform and ballet wear which is available to purchase upon request. A red C1 T-shirt and black ballet shoes is compulsory for all members. We do ask that if the uniform is not worn on wash days then members should wear plain black dance wear only.
Currently, all our classes are parent free as we operate a drop off and collect procedure. We feel this helps our members grow in confidence and gives that extra special element of surprise when it comes to shows.
Oh Yes! We are proud to offer 4 exceptionally spacious dance studios which are blessed with natural light making the studios bright and airy. Studios have their own car park, mirror, and sprung floors all of which ensuring no overcrowding in classes.
Yes, Classes are mixed gender with choreography to suit.
Class One have dance classes for all ages and abilities, we start from ages 3 up to Adult. (Young children must be dry and confident to attend class without a parent)
Stage Shows
Unfortunately, purchased tickets for exams, shows and competitions are un-refundable. This policy will always be stated at the time of purchase.
Most of our costumes for shows are provided through the school, however a hire fee will be applicable.
Yes, we offer private singing/drama lessons upon request and a Singing and Acting class.
Yes, we have two annual shows; a mixture of Dance Performance, Musical Theatre, Singing and Acting. Dates for shows will be advised by the school with plenty of notice at the studio and on social media.
Competition

No, competitions are not compulsory. However, many students attend as they are always fun and friendly and offer a sense of achievement.
Yes, we attend a variety of regular competitions throughout the year.
Exams
Examination results are sent directly to the school principal who will review each result individually. All pupils are invited to a presentation evening at Class One to receive their awards. This is an incredibly special occasion for all.
No, however most children take part in the examination sessions as they are fun, enjoyable and give children a sense of achievement.
At Class One we hold examinations with the largest dance associations in the World, the IDTA.
Progression
Yes, we offer private tuition; however, these lessons can be high demand and need to be booked in advance.
Gillian has trained many pupils who have gone on to achieve successful dance careers; Class One can support dancers with tuition and guidance for all auditions. Please see our Professional Development page.
Yes, we already teach in several schools at this level, so we can further tuition at our academy.
Yes, at Class One we review each child’s progress and can offer progression to the highest level.
